Memenuhi permintaan tersayang

Assalamualaikum dan Salam 1 Malaysia to all. Alhamdulillah. Recently went home for Malaysia Day short holiday.

My sister and I reach hometown nearly 3 pm on Saturday. I was driving alone from Kuantan to Raub prior to that. Then, from Raub we started our journey to our lovely hometown.


Few days before our arriving, my nieces and nephews did made some calls, requesting something they wanted to have during this short holiday.


So the 1st request was to have Nasi Goreng Pattaya by my eldest nephew. He is going to sit for PMR this coming October. So, our dinner that night was no others but the requested menu. No pics sebab semua mkn dgn cepat.


On Sunday, I baked an orange cake, requested by one of my niece. Before that we went to nearby town to buy some necessities and I ended buying lots of fruits and vegetables. So cheap I guest. I bought 10 pieces of orange for about RM 3.50 (the original price was RM 4.29 for 20 pieces but if you buy less than 20 pieces, you r charged RM 0.35 per piece). I also bought 4 pieces of pomegranate (1 pc = RM 2.90)  which are also so cheap as the normal price was RM 5.90 per pc. I bought some green apples, sweet cabbages, Mak Tam Vege and many more.


Mak Tam, priced RM 3.50 per kg, is my new fav salad I;d bought actually to bring back to Kuantan but I forget to store them in my luggage. Adoyai, nyesal la. Here is a pic of Mak Tam or some called it Yau Mak Choy that I googled.




I bought this for more than two kilos. They are sweet and crunchy. 


Here is the pic of some slices of my orange cake. I used Mat Gebu recipe to bake this orange cake but I double the batter.



Mat Gebu's Orange Cake Recipe


130 gram mentega (I guna seketul butter 250gm)
1 cawan tepung naik sendiri (self raising flour) (I used 1.5 cups of SRF)
1/2 cawan gula halus dan asingkan 1 camca besar ( I used 3/4 cup of fine sugar + 2 extra tablespoons)  
2 biji telur gred "A", asing putih dan kuning (I used 3 gred C eggs)
1 biji oren, parut kulit (bahagian kuning sahaja) dan perah jus (I used two small oranges)

Some small pieces of roasted almond and choc chips.
1 teaspoon of baking powder (mixed well with the SRF)
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence 


CARA MEMBUATNYA :-)
  1. Panaskan oven pada suhu 175C, lenser bunt-pan dengan mentega, atau guna acuan silicone. Ketepikan.
  2. Putar mentega dan gula hingga putih, masukkan kuning telur satu persatu dan putar hingga gebu. Masukkan parutan kulit oren, putar sebati. (added the vanilla essence to the batter)
  3. ada kelajuan sederhana, masukkan tepung (yang dah digaul rata dgn baking powder bersama - sama sedikit almonds) berselang seli dengan jus oren, hingga habis, pastikan bahan terakhir ialah tepung. Putar rata. Ketepikan.
  4. Dalam mixing bowl yang bersih dan kering, putar putih telur hingga berbuih, masukkan 1 camca besar gula halus yang diasingkan dari 1/2 cawan tadi dan terus putar hingga kental.
  5. Gaul putih telur dalam adunan no 3 dengan kaedah kaup balik, hingga rata dan sebati. Tuang dalam acuan tadi dan bakar selama 40 - 45 minit, cucuk dengan lidi sate jika keluar bersih tanda kek anda telah masak. Keluarkan dari acuan dan sejukkan atas jaringan sepenuhnya.
  6. Tabur almonds dan choc chips atas adunan.


Then on Monday, I made some popia and baked Bread Pudding. Also requested by my nieces. I used Hanieliza Bread Pudding recipe but double the quantity.




PUDING ROTI HANIELIZA

Bahan:

A:
500 ml susu segar/fresh milk
8 keping roti (gardenia/high 5)

B:
4 sudu besar gula halus
2 sudu besar butter
2 biji telur ayam
1 sudu teh esen vanilla
1 sudu besar tepung jagung

C:
2 sudu besar kismis hitam (replaced with some choc chips as the raisins are not in stock)

Sos Kastad
1 tin susu cair
2 s/b tepung kastad
2 s/b gula


CARA:
1. Hancurkan /koyakkan roti dan rendam dalam susu 1/2 jam
2. Kacau dan gaul rata bahan B.
3. Masukkan kismis dan tuangkan kedalam loyang.
4. Bakar dalam suhu 180'C selama 30 minit/masak.
5. Gaulkan bahan sos kastad dan masakkan diatas api yg sederhana sebentar.
6. Tuangkan sos diatas puding semasa menghidang.

NOTA:
Sos Kastad boleh juga di gantikan dgn ais kerim coklat/vanilla dan sebagainya..
ataupun cream coklat.
 


Popia pula memang selalu dibuat. I just used sliced carrot and sengkuang for the filling. Luckily they still tasted well.


This recent holiday also we had Ikan Talapia bakar (grilled) for all lunches and dinners as mum just bought Die Casting Grilled Pan. And Ikan Talapia memang mudah sangat nak dapat di kampung. Our neighbors are our dealer. We just have to request for the fish 1 day earlier. I guess the price also very cheap. 1 kilo = RM 12. And 1 Kilo = 3 middle size fishes. 


Things are so cheap in hometown. Huhuhu. Bilalah boleh dpt bekerja dkt dgn hometown? Huhuhuhu. For this, Sila bersabar ye wahai cik Laura!



Okay. That's all for this N3. Before that, lihatlah pokok carrot mak yang sudah mula mengeluarkan hasil. Our first home-grown carrot tu. Mum said maybe the harvest would be around early Nov.




I ikut juga along masuk kebun depan umah untuk ambil bunga kantan. Along I pembekal (pembekal la sangat) bunga kantan. Kami ada kebun bunga kantan dan along akan jual pada makcik yg akan jual bunga kantan kt pasar. NI rupa buah pokok kantan. Boleh makan tapi masam yang amat.




Hasil tuaian along hari tu. Banyak lagi di kebun sebenarnya. Yang dah kembang pun banyak. Kalau ada yang duduk area Jerantut, leh la order ngan along I. Along jual murah. RM 1 = 5 pieces huhuhu. (I ltk gmbr dibawah d Fb, my senior kata mcm tulip)
